JOB PURPOSE
Market Access Manager will be responsible for Gulf Markets: UAE, Bahrain, Qatar, Oman and Kuwait. This role will lead the Market Access activities in the Gulf cluster such as the development and the implementation of the Pricing and Market Access plan for the products as well as the development and dissemination of the supportive value documentation and materials, formulary inclusion, health outcomes generation in line with compliance rules in all activities. S/he will enhance Sanofi’s presence in all the Gulf markets and expand product offering in order to maximize value/access to patients and payers. This role will require close coordination with customers to maximize the full potential and solution offerings. This role will require continuous partnership and collaboration with Finance, Medical, Regulatory, Pricing, Public Affairs and Commercial teams in-country, regional and at the Global level.
To achieve success, it is critical that the Market Access Manager:
- This position is accountable to ensure that Market Access strategies are appropriate for all Gulf countries and aligned with Global and Regional market access and pricing strategies
- Develop market access plans that would create value to patients and to the business
- Drive recommendations and execution price and reimbursement deals for their therapy area across Gulf countries
- Drive exchange of best market access practices across countries and provide country support (incl. Training on all aspects of MA such as pricing, health-economics, advocacy and negotiation)
- Ensure high quality and transparency on operational aspects of Market Access, i.e. price monitoring, reference pricing, etc.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with the relevant stakeholders involved in access: payers, purchasers, physicians, hospital pharmacists, formulary listing and pricing committee members, insurance companies, etc.
- Work hand in hand with Public Affairs, Pricing, Regulatory, Medical and Key account managers to ensure the winning strategy for Sanofi assets
KEY RESULTS / ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. Strategy
- Proactively monitor external environment, customers and competitors to identify opportunities for improving access and risks to Sanofi’s portfolio access conditions
- Build Market Access readiness plans for new launches within Gulf and lead the execution in alignment with the brand strategy
- Continuously optimize market access strategies to maximize the value of the product
- Lead and / or contribute to payer research & relevant customer and competitor insights
- Develop payer value proposition & pricing strategy in accordance with local requirements and Global guidance
- Recommend optimal pricing and access launch plans for new assets. Ensure sustainability of long-term pricing strategy for in line products in private market and for Patient outcomes and avoid local market decisions that may have negative impact on other markets in the region
- Support developing innovative access schemes or partnerships with payers to reach new patient segments
- Work on the development/adaptation of relevant health economic models to support the strategy
- Advise Gulf leadership team with realistic pricing and access risk & opportunity assessments to inform commercial strategies, including access timelines in different funding channels
- Stakeholders mapping: Ensure updated stakeholder mapping at national, regional and local level for each country in the region
- Responsible for stakeholder engagement and market development
2. Operations
- Prepare and manage submissions of Sanofi products in national, regional and local formularies
- Continuously expand knowledge of the market and monitor healthcare system evolution
- Utilize efficiently medical and epidemiological data to prepare negotiation strategy with the various stakeholders
- Work on evidence generation activities to support the value proposition of the products and answer to local payers’ requirements
- Economic evaluations, outcome studies and epidemiology
- Studies and projects that can arise from the request and/or collaboration with clinical or non-clinical stakeholders
- Effectively convey value communication tools: payer value story, key messages, Q&A, etc.
- Lead and support negotiations with local authorities pricing proposal to achieve recommended price level.
- Track and follow-up impact of pricing decisions and continuously adjust in order to maximize business opportunity
- Collaborate with Public Affairs colleagues, for relevant policy discussion
- Coordinate execution of access plan and ensure successful execution of launch strategies for new products and maintenance of optimal access conditions for established brands
- Develop and maintain personal relationship with global/regional market access and pricing colleagues
- Collaborate and contribute actively in the development of the cross-functional Brand plans, work cross-functionally and be active contributor to Brand Teams to assess the unmet medical need, collecting the relevant insights while creating / tailoring health economics arguments to defend and protect Sanofi portfolio’s access and pricing strategies
- Acquire and maintain expertise within access and health-economics, also within the assigned therapeutic area by searching and reading relevant literature, attending congresses, symposia and other relevant meetings
- Train / ensure assistance to cross-functional teams on market access and economic related topics (as well as for their relevant stakeholders)

SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS
- Core Requirements:
- University Degree is required (preferably in pharmaceutical sciences or similar or Health Economics related)
- Minimum 6 to 8 years of successful Pharmaceutical experience including relevant experience of minimum of 3 years in Access / pricing
- Experience in Rare Disease, Multiple Scelorosis & Rare Blood Disorders is a plus
- Proficient in written and spoken English, Arabic is an advantage
- Good understanding of relevant legislation, policies and procedures linked to the pharmaceutical sector (i.e. pricing, reimbursement, code creation, etc.)
- Scientific and technical expertise and good knowledge of the pharmaceutical market especially in matters of Health Economics, Patient Reported Outcomes, Real World Evidence
