Production Supervisor - GSK

Job Purpose:
The production supervisor holds overall responsibility for the correct and efficient operation of the production line during his shift. His main function is to meet set production targets with highest quality and highest practicable efficiencies.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for production of good quality product.
  • Ensure the correct raw materials and packaging materials used for production during the shift.
  • Ensure sufficient supply of materials to his area in a timely manner where required.
  • Organize with foreman efficient plan adherence in the shift.
  • Meet set production targets for the shift.
  • Responsible for the supervision of all production dept. activities line operation with good efficiency and labor control.
  • Provide guidance to a team of production machine operators and line leader.
  • Collate and supply data to facilitate preparation of daily /monthly production and productivity reports.
  • Compile shift production log.
  • Report any machinery malfunctions to Engineering department.
  • Monitor the cleanliness and housekeeping of the production areas during the shift.
  • Maintain personal hygiene standards and safety standards.
  • Report any GMP deviations during his shift.
  • The commitment to implement the SOPs instructions for the required work and to ensure that there is good training conducted.
  • Adherence to standards of Data Integrity & ALCOA.
  • Responsible for SAP core team activities regarding material request, batch printing and revision.
  • Provide the needed trainings for production's operators on MERP system knowledge & operation skill.
  • Adjust material stock to ensure material physical quantity compliance with system quantity
  • Fundamental MERP system operation issues investigation.
Knowledge/ Education / Previous Experience Required:
  • University Bachelors' degree in Sciences discipline / Pharmaceutical.
  • 0 to 3 years' experience in a supervisory position within the pharmaceutical industry
  • Good knowledge of processing and packaging.
  • Good knowledge and experience with SAP is preferred.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Good supervision skills to have the ability to train operators and provide them with right direction.
  • Good problem-solving skills
  • Good command of English Language with acceptable level of understanding to operate the machinery, for proper documentation and to have the understanding for the operating environment and its requirements.
