The Opportunity
As the BU Director for Speciality, Gulf, you'll be responsible for creating and driving the regional commercial strategic vision and directly managing Sales and Marketing within country, helping the business to maximize the commercial value of assets and deliver to expected growth targets. You'll be tasked with providing in-country leadership for the successful launch of multiple new innovation assets and championing cross functional collaboration efforts in achieving overall scientific value. You'll be responsible for influencing, inspiring and aligning, not only within the LOC, but across GSK Speciality to ensure resources, messages and mission are achievable. This role requires significant experience in order to both manage the current Nucala, HIV and Benlysta portfolio, and build the GSK Speciality portfolio with subsequent launch (and commercialization) capabilities for Oncology. Key Responsibilities
- Create and execute long-term strategy for in-country Speciality Business to achieve expected growth.
- Accountable for developing and achieving forecast goals and profit targets.
- Manage country Speciality P&L.
- Ensure Speciality global TA and cross-functional partners (e.g., R&D, Medical, market access, supply chain, Customer Insights) collaborate with BU/LOC to execute strategy.
- Provide in-country leadership for new asset launches (including market shaping, marketing mix, channel strategy) and ensure successful launch.
- Generate country-level insights to inform LOC and regional Speciality strategy.
- Participate in in-country Oncology HR talent management and development (build the new oncology organisation).
- Manage external stakeholders (e.g., customers, policy makers, payers, providers) to communicate customer value propositions and build trust-based relationships.
- Provide input into Medicine Commercialisation Teams where required.
- Ensure compliance to country laws and legislation.
- Management of between 12-15 FTE (will increase in 2021).
Why You?
Basic Qualifications - We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:
- BA / BCS/ Business Administration
- Progressive experience with general management background, including sales and marketing within the pharmaceutical industry and recently in Speciality.
- Prior experience of operating in a GM/BU Head/Country Manager (or equal seniority) level position.
- Experience in profit and loss management including developing product strategies and product positioning programs for Speciality assets.
- Ability to exhibit outstanding business judgement as demonstrated by a track record in planning, marketing, sales, and analytical roles.
- International experience and sales exposure are desirable.
- Deep understanding of the commercial development process in Speciality; drug discovery, development, launch and commercialization.
- Speciality market development experience and creating new market opportunities
- Proven ability and credibility to influence change at the enterprise level to secure resources needed to build and support a new business capability
- Track record of success leading and embedding change at the enterprise level and inspirationally leading own team through change
- Experience of launch preparation and successful launch of Specialty products.
- Experience of driving growth of a speciality portfolio
- Experience of matrix working and influence at local and global level
