The Patient Engagement & Advocacy Manager, will be responsible for partnering with key patient organizations who are working in alignment with GSK’s mission to help patients feel better, do more, live longer in the Gulf region.
The primary function of this role is to liaise with oncology patient groups and their constituents on unbranded programs, resources, support and services available from GSK for an assigned brand or tumour type.
This will require fostering relationships with these organizations and developing collaborative plans for partnership including tangible deliverables. Key internal stakeholders include Medical, Communications, Market Access, Managed Markets, Field Sales, Strategic Engagement, Strategic Accounts and other Commercial members as appropriate.
The key responsibilities of the Manager, Oncology Patient Advocacy:
- Implement a comprehensive oncology Patient Advocacy strategy in support of the GSK mission;
- Ensure all agreed upon benefits which accompany corporate partnerships are pulled through and executed upon to support assigned brand(s);
- Help ensure patients receive important information about their disease and serve in a position to have meaningful discussions with their healthcare providers;
- Deliver helpful educational information pertaining to relevant disease states to patients and advocacy groups at various GSK sponsored events (e.g. booth exhibits and patient meetings);
- Provide insights to inform Brand Team development of educational materials for patient engagement and patient support services that address unmet needs within the patient community;
- Foster relationships with internal, cross-functional stakeholders in order to best determine how advocacy relationships may generate new business opportunities;
- Represent GSK's entire oncology business, including pipeline and development opportunities, to key patient organizations to create connectedness when appropriate;
- Build and sustain valued partnerships between GSK and prominent Patient Advocacy Groups;
- Serve as a primary point of contact and relationship manager for selected oncology patient advocacy groups in partnership with other functional areas;
- Manage the Patient Leadership Council and Unbranded Patient Ambassador program for oncology;
- Arrange GSK presence at all relevant events, including walks and galas, including support of field personnel at local walks;
- Ensure all aspects of patient engagement are implemented in a thoughtful manner that meets GSK's values and high standards of conduct.Why you?Basic Qualifications:
- BA/BS degree from an accredited university
- 10 years pharmaceutical industry experience
- 3 years management experience
- Experience in patient advocacy
- Fluent EnglishPreferred Qualifications:
- MBA/MS or MA in business, marketing or sciences preferred
- 3-5 years of relevant oncology advocacy- preferably in Multiple Myeloma
- Experience working in Middle East, Gulf region
- Arabic
